queen of rain

Hehehe... whenever I do a music post it's because I'm either too busy or too lazy to write anything. Since it's been raining almost every evening this week, I'm posting a song by one of my favourite pop group - Roxette called "Queen of rain". This song was the second single taken from Roxette's 1992 album, Tourism: Songs from Studios, Stages, Hotelrooms & Other Strange Places. It was originally written and recorded for the highly successful Joyride album which was the first music album I listened to as a child. This song was initially considered as a closing track, but it was replaced by "Perfect Day" which I'm not really a fan of. Instead it was included in the 1992's Tourism album.

Ok, I took the info from Wikipedia... hehehe.. What do I like about this song? Well, first of all I the piano bits. The pace of the song is relaxed and chilled. Not as "pop-rock" as some of their other songs. I don't think the lyrics makes sense but I always like the chorus where the two singers, Per Gessle and Marie Fredriksson do a duet. I just love his voice. hehhee... ok ok... too much talking about a song... here's the music video:

 Lyrics:
Queen of Rain by Roxette
In that big big house there are fifty doors
and one of them leads to your heart.
In the time of spring I passed your gate
and tried to make a start.
All I knew was the scent of sea and dew
but I've been in love before,
how about you?
There's a time for the good in life,
a time to kill the pain in life,
dream about the sun you queen of rain
In that big house there are fifty beds
and one of them leads to your soul.
It's a bed of fear, a bed of threats,
regrets and sheets so cold.
All I knew your eyes so velvet blue,
I've been in love before, how about you?
There's a time for the good in life,
a time to kill the pain in life,
dream about the sun you queen of rain
It's time to place your bets in life,
I've played the loser's game of life,
dream about the sun you queen of rain
Time went by as I wrote your name in the sky,
fly fly away, bye bye.
