Out of fuel but not out of luck

Never trust what your on board computer says... that's my advice to you guys out there. We were going out to Alamanda for lunch when just at the traffic lights before Permata/lot 10 our car died on us. We tried restarting but it just wouldn't start! The engine cranked so the battery was definitely not flat. The fuel level warning light was one but the computer said available range was 50km...LIAR!! It was 12.30 and we were holding up the lunch hour traffic which thank god for us being in Bangi wasn't that bad but still... ppl were honking at us. Good thing we were all engineers and that we worked in the fuels and lubes industry. We could fairly quickly diagnose the situation.

Before anything we had to push the car to a spot that would not disrupt traffic which happened to b the Lot 10 parking lot which was very nearby thank God. We called up a colleague who would later come to the rescue with some more fuel. Meanwhile we had lunch at Lot 10 rather than Alamanda. We were out of fuel, but definitely not out of luck! Some people's lunch breaks are so boring, ours seldom are...
