Charity

I'm currently at Mentari today and we were graced by a visit from a very kind person. She has been donating NEW books to our project ever since we moved into our new centre early this year. Literally, one whole book shelf, including the shelf itself was donated by her. May Allah be pleased with her and reward her accordingly isya Allah...

On this topic I'd like to touch on a conversation I had at the office with an officemate. We discussed the concept of "Ammar ma'ruf, nahi mungkar". We both agreed that in the context of Malaysia we are so obsessed with the Nahi Mungkar bit that we forget by forbidding evil, are we providing an avenue for people to do good? How many of us actually invite people to do good, or ammar ma'ruf? You see, it's easy to say don't do that but to say don't do that but do this instead is easier said than done... people, in this context, youth need an outlet to do good/charity, consistantly and habitually.

This where I do the pitch on Mentari, and would like to invite everyone to come join me to help give less fortunate children a better chance at life, no matter how small your contribution, it's a little bit more than what they had before. Sekian tazkirah pagi Ahad...
